I recently visited the ‘Still Undead: Popular Culture in Britain Beyond the Bauhaus’ exhibition which is currently being shown at the Nottingham Contemporary Gallery. Nottingham Contemporary is an amazing place to visit for a wander-round, it’s exhibitions are run on donations and it has the most tempting gift shop.
I wanted to share some photos I took at the exhibition. It takes you through the history of the Bauhaus and how it has influenced Britain through time, there were sections linked to Mary Quant which really excited me as I am going to the V&A exhibition on her work next week. It was also so interesting to how much of the original work created by Bauhaus students still looks so modern and you can clearly see how it has inspired and developed into much of the fashion/ art/ film that we see today. I encourage anyone to visit, if only for a quick look around (and don’t forget the leave a donation to support the gallery).
